HASSELT / GENK. They are hard to miss. Over the past few days, posters have surfaced in more and more corners of both cities, each carrying nothing but a name: NO FACE NO CASE. No face, no context, just a pink mask and a phrase that keeps returning. The question follows on its own. Who is behind it?
The first reactions came quickly, though most of the industry stayed quiet. Bazart responded briefly online. Nothing was confirmed, and it may have been an innocent exchange, but it was enough to get people wondering about a possible link to the Belgian band.
Two other names surfaced since. Ralpheus called it something that "creates fuss"; Casper Cox described it as an "intriguing project". Neither remark reveals what, if anything, either man knows, but the comments have kept the story moving.
Nobody connected to NO FACE NO CASE is confirming any of it. For now this is a question, not an answer, and the names doing the rounds in cafés and group chats are guesses more than anything else.
What does circulate is the story behind the figure. According to information around the project, NO FACE NO CASE is the new alter ego of a Belgian DJ who had already built a name and then deliberately walked away from it. Not because he was finished with music, the story goes, but because he had grown tired of everything that comes with being known. The idea is to keep performing without his name, his face and his private life taking centre stage. The fix is as simple as it is drastic: begin again, this time entirely anonymous.
And by this account, hardly a newcomer. The man behind the mask is said to have played Pukkelpop, Dour and Sunrise Festival, alongside a run of club tours and several dates abroad. His former artist name stays fully out of view.
He is holding his cards close. Anyone who asks him or his entourage for more meets a friendly but firm wall: nothing to share, not yet. It is difficult, they concede, but that was priced in from the start. The plan itself is apparently fixed. Festivals next summer, clubs the winter after. A route drawn out in detail, while almost everything about the identity behind it stays blank.
Whether all of it is true is hard to check, and that seems to be part of the arrangement. No old photographs surface, no names are dropped, and online the person behind NO FACE NO CASE stays carefully out of frame.
